Message from the PAWO President H.E Eunice Ipinge.

I wish to welcome you to our official website of the Pan African Women Organization (PAWO) .
The Pan African Women Organization, abbreviated OPM, PAWO and OPF, was officially launched in 1962 in Dar-es-Salam Tanzania by H.E. Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere , is a continental organization of African women who fought for decolonization, fight for gender equality, for the promotion of women and against discrimination and fight for their full and responsible participation in the sustainable development of Africa. PAWO is a non-profit making entity, has the status of observer in the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and Specialized Agency in the African Union and is a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

EMINENT WOMEN AWARDED AT THE 59TH PAWO ANNIVERSARY

PAWO eminent mothers were awarded by Ugandan president H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who was the chief guest at the 59th PAWO Day anniversary which was held in Uganda's capital Kampala at Kololo independence memorial grounds

Our Achievements

i. The main achievement that PAWO contributed to, was the total decolonization of Africa around the 60s and participating in the formation of the Organisation of African unity (O.A.U) today’s AU.
